Marshall Bailey

Marshall Bailey is the President of the largest global financial markets association, the ACI - The Financial Markets Association. The organisation represents almost 13,000 members involved in the regulated wholesale financial markets.
Based in London and Paris, Marshall is responsible for leading the ACI and its extensive and diverse membership world-wide. He assists the ACI in working closely with regulators, central banks and all sections of the market to improve conduct and behaviour. He is the first full time President of the ACI in their sixty-year history.

Marshall began his career in Geneva as an equity derivatives trader with AMAS, then as an FX and fixed income trader at UBS in Toronto in 1991, before moving to RBC Capital Markets, where he served as Head of Institutional FX Sales in Toronto. He held a variety of senior roles at RBC over a period of more than a decade, including Managing Director and Head of Client Coverage for FIG in EMEA & Asia, and on the European Board of BAFT-IFSA. At State Street Global Markets in London, Marshall served as Chief Operating Officer, as well as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for State Street Global Markets International Limited and Director on the Board of State Street Bank Europe Ltd.
In addition, Marshall serves on the Board of CIBC plc in London and has been appointed as an Independent Director on UK Financial Investments (UKFI), the government body overseeing the UK government's ownership of RBS, Lloyds Banking Group and UK Asset Resolution.

Marshall holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Winnipeg in Canada, and an MA in International Affairs and History from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. Additionally, Marshall is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), has completed the FT Non-Executive Directors' Diploma course. In his spare time, Marshall has completed the advanced certificate in Wine Studies from the WSET, and is a qualified Ocean Yachtmaster with the RYA. He buys himself a new putter each year in his endless pursuit of lower golf scores.
